22nd November, 2016. Beautiful Palm Desert - Shopping and dinner at Pacifica Restaurant

We woke early still impacted by the time change back to Pacific time, to see th most perfect sunrise and the start of a beautiful day.  After breakfast we went for a drive yo Premim outlets looking at basketball shoes and on the way passed the wind farms with their massive generating arms.  This is one of the largest installations in the USA and it is surprising to see the thousands of these white fan like objects all turning at varying pace.

Our drive also took us past the Waldorf Astoria in Palm Desert, where Ken has booked dinner, but may now need to cance.

We also saw several vets long trains with in excess of 150-170 carriages and 5 diesels crossing the desert from Los Angeles. Despite the many trucks on the Interstate 10, the railway still plays a lesser but significant role.

Then we drove back tomCook Street and visited The Market Place / Village Market here at Palm Desert to complete our shopping needs for groceries for the week.

We had made arrangements to meet Lani Sexton and Jim Bennett (friends from outside LA) for dinner this evening at Pacifica Seafood Restaurant .  Ken had a swim and hot tub after taking pictures.

Dinner was joyous in catching up with good friends in a very good restaurant which is highly regarded.

We enjoyed the seniors meal , talked then went back to their condo for deserts.  All in all an excellent day in perfect conditions with clear blue skies, 77 degrees and no breeze.  Life is good
