Following our pick up and transfer from Dubai International airport we were transported to our hotel Accommodation. We were excited and with a sense of anticipation we arrived after a comfortable 25 minute drive from the Airport

We had booked using a Luxury Escapes package rather then the usual Hilton Honors points. We are regular visitors to Dubai as a preferred stopover on our trips to Europe. We have usually stayed at the Conrad as a favourite for a one or two night stopover, but we decided to do something different.

This is a beautiful property and the interior fitout is simply spectacular and the staff in every interaction go out of their way to assist and support.

As previously commented we had a tight schedule for the first evening because we had booked a tour of the Fountains on a boat out on the lake at Dubai Mall following dinner. We arranged an early dinner and were almost by ourselves in the restaurant named Le Patio a simulated outdoor marquee with beautiful pastel colors. Quite unique and different from anything we have experienced previously.in our travels.

Following dinner, we arranged for a taxi to take us almost 3 km to the Dubai Mall and the lake and fountains all of course in the shadow of the Burj Khalifa. We enjoyed a magical 2 hours after finding the correct location to swap our vouchers for tickets and then identify the correct area for boarding the boats.

The fountains are larger than those of the Las Vegas show and yet the psychedelic rhythm of the music and the flowing movement of the fountains provides wonderful entertainment. To ride the boat out on the lake almost close enough to touch the fountains was in itself quite stunning

We were in a small boat with an American family and we enjoyed their company. We took many photos and videos, some of which are included below.

Simply a unique experience sitting outside on a perfect evening with temperatures of 90 degrees.

We were a little concerned about getting a taxi back, but that was quickly erased as they had a wonderful efficient service for queueing.

All in all just a wonderful evening.

We arrived back at the hotel and took in the stunning chandeliers. We were still excited and sleep seemed far away. A spectaular start to our holiday.
