Our New Garden a Significant Challenge - May June 2016
We completed the rebuilt and significant renovations but in the process almost destroyed an old style beautiful garden. Unfortunately, that was a consequence of having to enlarge the footprint and demolish several garden beds.
Jeanette was horrified when several beautiful Camellias had to be taken out, several ferns on the back side-way had to be removed.
But this all allowed our Gardener and Jeanette to carefully plan and layout a substantially new and modified garden with a range of different plants. We looked upon this as an opportunity to bring in several different plants, tame the hedges, and work the two water features into a detailed framework.
Our result is a different garden , substantially smaller with less high maintenance require.
It is aimed to give us joy and yet allow Peter, our gardener, the opportunity to do the work easily as we age and mature. We do not want to be hamstrung by the size and work woithin the garden
We are very pleased, it will be interesting to see what it looks like in 3 -5 years as the plants mature and fill in the gaps.
Jeanette and Ken hope you enjoy this work and the progressive development of our garden and the alternative features of the different garden plots.
It is now almost 4 years following the redevelopment of the home and garden. Jeanette has built a beautiful garden which she calls a “granny” garden with a variety of plants.
