BERLIN is Stunning and with Magnificent Museums as well as Hop on Hop off Buse and Ferry Ride.
We awake after a so so sleep to a beautiful morning. We have a long day planned after a enjoyable breakfast.
At 8.45am we depart the Hotel and make our way some 300-400 metres to the nearest Hop on Hop off Bus stop, where we wait some 20 minutes for the arrival of the first bus for the day. We aim to travel around its route to get a feel and then later make decisions as to what we can do.
We have great ride from 9.20am through until almost 12.00pm riding the bus through all of the various areas , take many photos , some of which are included later here, it really is a stunning city, with significant upgrades occurring in many places. We decide that we will have lunch of a baguette and drink and some fruit in one of the many parks. Jeanette elects to have a restful afternoon whilst Ken catches the bus to the Brandenburg Gate, walks and takes photos and then meanders back through the parks along the river and then into several museums.
Ken does catch one of the many ferry alternatives to take him up and down the river over about 75 minutes, thoroughly enjoys the different perspectives. He then walks to the parliament building, which is of course closed today to the public but takes several photos.
By this time Ken i getting tired and it is hot in the afternoon sun. Noticeably many of the tourists from across Europe have decided that it is just too hot to be out and about and the response appears to be to find a beer garden and relax wiwth some musical entertainment.
Finally at 5.45pm he decides to stop and have cold beer and watch some of the walking passing parade. It has been a stunning day, have enjoyed everything we have seen in Berlin.
He has had a terrific afternoon and we decide to purchase some cheeses and bread with a drink and have a quiet and relaxing evening . Just a very special day!!
