Flight Ho Chi Minh and then transfer and Check in at Radisson Blu Resort Cam Ranh Bay.
We had experienced some delays in exiting our flight from Melbourne to Ho Chi Mink, but this was also occasioned by the heavy rainfall from early evening. But after a short delay we came off what had been a most enjoyable Vietnam airlines flight, proceeded through to Immigratrion and customs for processing.
Ken had previously booked assistance and support from arrival to completion of the Immigration and visa approach. This was cancelled as we had to provide 24 hours notice and with the delay of 1c day in our international flights we were unable to make arrangements. So we lined up with the many others entering Vietnam aqnd going through the visa process.
Fortunately , we had completed our Electronic Visa application and process, received our documentation and this made the Immigration process quite easy. We were about 50-60 people back in our lin e but it was processed quite quickly. We were through inside 30 minutes and then collected our luggage and made our way through to Customs and then to Terminal 1 (Domestic). It all worked very well.
We had a wait of about 75 minutes between flights and were given entry to the Prince Lounge ( very new for first and business Class ) customers asnd enjoyed this facility.
We were bussed out to our flight on Vietnam Airlines from Ho Chi Minh to Cam Ranh Bay. The flight was a short 35-40 minute flight. The aircraft was about 50% full. The Busioness class was staff plus ourselves and one other Australian couple. all worked well.
We arrived at Cam Ranh Bay International airport on schedule and direct to an air bridge. We collected our luggage and exited the terminal then found a driver with a sing marked Radisson Blu Resort.
Our luggage was delivered to the kerbside, he collected his comfortable SUV and then ushered us inside whilst he loaded our luggage, counted the numbers and then we made the 5-10 minute trip from the airport to the Resort.
We had our luggage collected, we were ushered to await in a lounge chair and reception was completed from there. All done and completed in under 5v minutes. Our Credit Card was charged 7,000,000 Vietnam Dong (24,500 per US$1) , ie approximately US$285.
The physical appearance of the Resort is simply breath-taking with soaring pillars and dramatic architecture. We look forward to waking tomorrow morning to take in the stunning g scenery of the Bay arena.
The Room is 701 and is a suite consisting of a large lounge area, together with a king size master bedroom, large bathroom with separate bath and full shower (with a wonderful Rainhead) and separate Toilet and powder room.
We unpack sufficient to get toilet bags and pyjamas and then shower and we are in bed by 9.40pm Vietnam time . That is 1.40-1.45am in AEST , so we have had a long day.
We sleep well until 6.00am Vietnam time. Jeanette has a little less, but we feel well and will also have an afternoon nap.
The views over the resort and down to the Beach and Cam Ranh Bay are simply divine. We take some photos and sit and watch the local activity and fun around the pool area.
We shower and dress and go down to breakfast in a Dining room / Restaurant which is spectacular.
The photos demonstrate the beauty of this area and the whole Bay Area and the resort. Movenpick Resort is next door and another Hotel / Resort complex is being constructed just around the corner. It is apparent that this is a water playground and many wealthy Middle class Vietnamese families and other nationalities from this region are in attendance.
Anyway, we are delighted. The first stage of this holiday has gone well.
We have enjoyed several days here and the accommodation has been excellent, the food terrific with each day offering a different feature of food from seafood, to , to fish and perhaps the most enjoyable was the individual Hot Pot .
