One Night Stay at Conrad Hotel, Bangkok.

We arrived after a transfer from Bangkok International airport. Check in as usual with Hilton Honors was efficient and smooth. Our luggage disappeared and will next be seen in our room. All seems fine until we are informed that it is Thai New Year and with the celebrations the hotel is full and there have been some delays in cleaning rooms and ensuring they are available for arriving clients like four selves. As Hilton Honors gold members , we had upgraded to a suite with a full corner, separate lounge area. The hotel has been recently renovated and updated and is indeed beautiful.

The response is to enable us to use the Executive lounge for “High Tea”by which time our room will hopefully be ready.

Our desired to extend our stay into tomorrow afternoon was confirmed with a late check out of 2.00pm.

So we thoroughly enjoyed the complimentary afternoon team with a cold drink and coffee.

Eventually after regular update and apologies, we are shown to our Executive Group room/ suite being 2722. It is a superb room with great facilities and layout. We then proceed to unpack.

No dinner to night following our afternoon tea etc, but we are also so tired that it would be a waste.

I am typing this up at 7.20pm and will be in bed in 25 minutes.

We are well setup and the room is just terrific.

We showered and dressed for Breakfast in the Executive Lounge on level 29 and proceeded to enjoy a superb breakfast.

Today is very much a slow relaxing day and then after 3.00pm we will make our way to the Marriott time share which we have for the next 7 days, although we will check out after the 6th night to make our way home via Singapore airlines.

Later this morning Ken is checking out the excursions for the next few days here in Bangkok.

Our check out today is scheduled for a late 2.00pm, but we cannot check in until 4.00pm. Conrad will allow us to leave our room and have afternoon high tea in the Executive lounge until say 3.15pm then we will get a cab to take us to the Marriott.

We feel refreshed and relaxed. Jeanette is going to communicate with the family on Messenger later this morning.

Things are good. we had a wonderful African adventure. Abu Dhabi was just sensational and the Shangri-La unbelievable. now to finish our holiday with a great time here in Bangkok.
