Surfers Paradise - Perfect today- Absolutely beautiful
We woke to a perfect morning on the second last day of our Queensland holiday. Whilst it has been challenging we have still had a terrific break.
The sky is almost clear with a perfect blue sky, no clouds and certainly no rainfall following the nasty weather of the last 5-6 days and the deep weather depression that came south from the tropics.
Following breakfast Ken packed up his golf clubs in the travelling bag, and then later this morning we will walk along the Surfers Paradise beach. We will lunch later at a restaurant along the Spit.
Whilst yesterday remained overcast with occasional drizzle and showers we were able to get out and walk from Sovereign to the Nerang River and have morning tea of cake and cappuccinos. We then sat and watched people fishing and then the local black swans came. The weather is beginning to show signs of improvement. We walk back to our Hotel and comment upon the pale sunshine and the warmth in the sun and the air. The forecast is for continuing improvements before further rainfall on Friday and then this period of weather should be forgotten with a significant improvement and warmer weather with temperatures of 24-27 degrees Celsius and clear skies and longer periods of perfect weather.
Yesterday afternoon in a period of drizzle and with a cooler wind, Ken caught the “G-line” light rail from the nearby stop “Surfers Paradise North” to Pacific Fair Shopping Centre at “Broadbeach”. We covered the 7 stops in 8-9 minutes and it is an efficient service.
He walked through the shopping centre for about 50 minutes.
Then caught the tram back to Surfers Paradise North and walked back to Sovereign in light Drizzle. We then had a meal inside watched some television and turned in for the night at 10.30am.
Here are several photos from yesterday’s activities.
So the holiday has been enjoyable and the weather whilst disappointing and wet hasn’t severely impacted our getting about. The various Accommodation has been of a good standard from the initial nights at Hilton Surfers Paradise to the timeshare at Beachcomber International in Coolangatta.
The time here in Surfers Paradise has been a challenge but we have enjoyed the Sovereign with our one bedroom condo.
Morning Walk then lunch at Fisherman’s Wharf.
We enjoyed a brisk walk along the Surf beach and promenade. The weather was perfect.
We then planned our lunch at Fisherman’s Wharf along the Spit on the way to Sea world.
A perfect way on a perfect morning to end our stay here at Surfers Paradise and the Gold Coast, Queensland.
Later on in the afternoon Ken returned to the Beach took photos.
The following gallery are photos from lunch and then this afternoon.
