Maloy, Norway 1st September 2022.
The Daily Current describes the next port as Magical Maloy. Whilst only a small village of only a few thousand villagers/ residents. Maloy isa the administrative centre of the municipality of Vagsoy. As a coastal village Maloy is still very reliant upon the fishermen and that industry. today it relies upon fish brought in from further fields as well as from local fish farms.. From filleting the catch to producing cod liver oil and animal foods.
The Maloy coastine is simply stunning from beautiful beaches to splendid hilhs with hiking trails.. Maloy displays the best of Norway beauty built around the importance and reliance of fishing over the centuries.,
Maloy is still an important fishing village with exports across the world and the town is surrounded by a stunning beautiful landscape . It si also well known fr the famous Kannesteinen Rock, which is a tall mushroon shaped rock that sits along the rugged coast and was formed over thousands of years simply by water erosion.
We walked through the town and enjoyed the opportunity to appreciate the importance of the fishing industry.
also took the oppoprtunity to visit a pharmacy to get some cough mixture fr Jeanette who is not well and appears to have come down with sinucitis.
Then after lunch and follwing a short break, we have a local choir come to the port and present a 45 minute concert . They are pretty good. following thewir concert we have the Maloy Concert Band play for 30 minutes and receive a great ovation from the passemgers.
