Excursion from Laem Chabang (Port of Bangkok).
Sanctuary of Truth Museum, Banglamung, Chonburi Thailand
We chose to do an excursion from the Ship on our first day in the Port of Laem Chabang (Bangkok).
We had previously spent the prior day on board.
We chose to visit the wooden Church. This is a wonderful building which has been under construction since 1988 and is still many years from completion.
It is known as the Sanctuary of Truth Museum and it is a total construction of small wooden parts integrated to reflect many different characters within the Buddhist Faith and conveys the 5 Missions of human activity as follows:
-An angel holding a lotus flower is to set the mind for heaven and earth;
An Angel holding scripture is to inherit the best science from the savants of the past;
Angel holding a child’s hand and propping up the elderly is to build eternal peace;
Angel rides a horse holding a holy flower with a dove in hand is the fusion of the above 4 virtues leading society towards peace.
There are several Truths being
-First Truth - Who are we and where are we from?
-2nd Truth - how do we survive?
3rd Truth - The End of Life
4th Truth - Samples of civilisation.
5th Truth - What is the Purpose of Life?
6th Truth - Society is a two sided coin
7th Truth - The Beginning of Society.
So we spent a couple of hours walking through this complex under the caring guidance of a local guide with excellent English who explained the role and place of the Sanctuary of Truth.
