Some Improvement in Weather late Tuesday and Wednesday.
Well after 7 days of wet, windy and unusual and disappointing weather late Tuesday we began to see some improvement in the weather. There has been a significant change with the blustery squalls dimminishing throughout the day.
We shopped at Pacific Fair Shoppoing Centre yesterday morning in a very wet period between 9.30am and 11.00am. We had morning tea of donuts and cappuccinos and it was just lovely. Then drove back along the beach and noticed the first glimmer of extended blue sky.
After lunch, Ken went for a long walk to the Nerang river and nearby parklands. visited Bubbles Cafe and does Beach Park, watched the black swans and the occasional boat on the river.
Than back to our unit. Even this little respite and the slight clearing of the weather lifted our spirits softer aq most disappointing 5 days of extremely wet and rough weather. The forecast suggests that the next couple of days will be a vast improvement.
Unfortunately, several golf courses are too wet for golf carts. So Ken intends to pack up his golf clubs in the travel bag. We may go to RACV tomorrow Royal Pines in Carrara tomorrow for a drink or morning tea.
We intend to eat out tonight and tomorrow night.
The view from our balcony (612) looking back toward the Nerang River some 350 metres away, Still wet and with squalls of heavy rainfall.
The weather has improved and Ken walked down to the Nerang River then along to Bumbles Cafes.
The Black Swans came out to greet Ken along the banks of the Nerang River, well fed and not interested in us.
These photos and Gallery presents our time at Buddy’s Beach on the Nerang River and our local Bumbles Cafe serving superb morning tea of biscuits, cakes and cappuccino.
You will notice the significant improvement in the weather with patches of blue sky and reduced cloud. Still occasional showers.
The better weather lifts your spirits. We both feel terrific and the break has done us good.
Ken has completed a load of washing and just waiting the completion of the dryer then everything is clean again and we will have minimal laundry for the trip home.
If this continues Ken may seek a game of golf on Thursday afternoon. But the courses are still so heavy and in most places carts are banned.
