Day 16 Visit to Amsterdam - Port of ljmuiden.

We arrived in this port about 25 minutes by shuttle to the City of Amsterdam. We were disappointed to see how far we were from Amsterdam itself, but the Changes through the need to cancel the russain ports and insert other European stops has had a significant impact on where Oceania can berth the Serina.

We had a canal cruise and trip cancelled but still hoped to be able to do something similar by ourselves. We caught an early shuttle into Amsterdam and had a cup of coffee at 9.30am after being dropped off.

It was of course interesting watching the passing parade of people and the thousands rifding bycicles throughout this busy part of Central Amsterdam.

Als the majority of canal cruises didn’t commence operating until 11.00 am and then were for a 2 hour trip.

Our stay in Amsterdam required us back on the Shuttle back to the ship at 1.15 pm - 1.30 pm . So time was very tight. Jeanette suggested that we give that a msiss and walk around this central part, visit the wonderul Railway Station , take pgots of the canal boats and trams and just enjoy our selves.

It was a good decision.

Enjoy our photos and defintely not time to go to the Museums or the Van Gogh gallery.

Se we used our time well, took photos and then we arrived a little early at the pick-up point.

We were disappointed but made the most of this situation. We hope tomorrow in Flanders fields out of Brugge will be easier as to time.

So we caught the Shuttle back to the Ship arriving at approximately 2.30 pm then enjoyed an ice-cream and waited for the sail away. We were really right down the bak of a commercial / industial port.
