Exploring Beautiful Coron!!
Coron is a tropical island in the province of Palawan in the Philippines. What most travellers call Coron is Coron town which is located on the biggest island in the archipelago, Busuanga island.
Coron town is a large fishing village with a population of some 40,000, but is quickly growing into a tourist region, with significant increases to tourist numbers and increasing visits from Cruise ships. Coron Island is a 30 minute boat ride from the town and is home to many of the most popular tourist sights in Coron.
The Palawan has most recently again been named as the most beautiful island in the world. It has stunning beaches, world class diving including WW11 wrecks and also stunning limestone karst landscapes which together with the beautifukl beaches , crystal clear freshwater lakes and shallow water corol reefs adds to its unrivalled attractions. Yet it remains somewhat untouched and is well protected environmentally. Coron is a separate group of islands from the main Palawan. All of the islands here are part of the Calamain Archipelago of northern Palawan. Whilst often compared to El Nido, another popular Palawan destination , Coron has a unique charm and its people radiate a warmth and charm unseen elsewhere in this archipelago.
There are 2 main seasons on Coron, First is the dry season from November to May annually and the second is the rainy season which occurs from July to September. It is therefore a stable tropical climate, which makes it an excellent venue for tourists in Summer.
We visited the City for a tour in a small bus ,took in several of the toursit areas, visited beaches and the hot springs.
An enjoyable bit was enjoyed by everyone. the people are warm and lovely with giant smiles.
