FLIGHT TO SINGAPORE AND HILTON STOPOVER AND FLIGHT HOME.

We had an enjoyable flight from Bangkok to Singapore with Singapore Airlines, thereafter arrival Blacklane took us seamlessly to Hilton Orchard, the ex-Mandarin Hotel, fully refurbished and very comfortable. Our upgrade to the Hilton Executive suite was first Class with a beautiful suite, as well as access to the Hilton Executive lounge.

Dinner last night in the Executive Lounge was all very civilized, and Ken enjoyed several glasses of very good Central Victorian Cabernet Sauvignon. A wide selection of food we thoroughly enjoyed. It was an enjoyable 2 hours in comfort with excellent food and drinks.

We are in the Mandarin Wings, just superb.

Then off to our suite at 8.45 pm and then did a few things reflecting upon this wonderful holiday. Thanks to Vietnam Air, Hotels in Vietnam, Viking River Cruises, Lotte Hotels, Shangri-La Hotels, Hilton Hotels, and Blacklane. We have a wonderful time with a variety of exceptional experiences.

We have benefitted from a wonderful range of outings and experiences all from the range of outstanding suppliers. We love South East Asia’s consistent food and style and whilst hot weather and humid still cause us issues, this has all worked remarkably well. We will nurse Viking as our preferred supplier for river cruises. They deliver a 5-star product with excellent service, food, and wonderful guides.

Jeanette is in bed early, Ken remains up and playing with this website and looking at the canceled Oceania Cruise for late 2024 as a consequence of the Middle East war. No joy in any of this. A terrible time.

Breakfast this morning is first class and we opted for the visit to the Estate restaurant buffet breakfast. Just an excellent breakfast with a wonderful variety of food from across the world.

Following a lengthy breakfast we return top our suite and consider what to do given that we must check out by3.00pm (15.00pm)

And then have several hours until we’ve are picked up by our Blacklane driver at 8.30pm. Transfer will take only 20 minutes. Then we have checkin will spend several hours then in KrisFlyer Business Class lounge with boarding at 11.50pm for the 12.25am departure of SQ 237 Singapore to Melbourne.A380 with us upstairs in 97A and 97D .

Our aim is to have a good meal in the Lounge and then board and slewed on the flat bed until say 5.30-6.00am . We land at 10.35am and Gavin will pick us up and take us home to Wheelers Hill.

So this morning , Jeanette decides not to go out but Ken will visit the Gardens at Marina Bay and visit both the flowers and the gardens and warefall.

He has a great time with many photos taken of these unique gardens, the amazing trees etc.

Then he catches the shuttle back to Marina Bay and Marina Bay Sands, takes photos, and then catches the train using the Red Circle Line to Orchard.

He has a great time and is assisted by a mature Singaporean lady. He reaches Orchard and needs to find his way to the Hilton Orchard, exits the tunnel and escalators from Orchard MRT Station, with no idea or thought yes as to find The Hilton. He walks across traffic lights and then eyes the Hilton sign on a nearby building, quickly enters the foyer, and makes his way to Suite 3110.

Ken has enjoyed an excellent morning, then gives Jeanette a small piece of jewellery and she is very pleased.

An exceptional morning in one of our favourite cities.

Ken then showers, we pack and we have our luggage collected and delivered for our pick up at 8.30 pm tonight.

There is little or nowhere for us to sit and wait in the Hilton.

We walk outside along Orchard Road and then decide to have a drink and snack at Providor. Ken enjoys a couple of beers, Jeanette has an ice - coffee and a nut croissant. Again all enjoyable.

We return to the Hilton collect our backpacks, then use the iPads. Time is dragging slowly and it is nearly 6.00pm. Still a couple of hours before our driver Is due.

This has also been an excellent way to finish although not this sitting around in the foyer of the Hilton Hotel.

We will use this Hotel again in Singapore. It is comfortable, meets our needs and is in a wonderful location adjacent to Orchard for Shoppoing etc.
