Virgin Flight Queenstown to Tullamarine , Melbourne .
We were advised that we were required to check in 3.00 hours prior to our 6.00pm Flight on Virgin Airlines. This proved unnecessary but we dropped off the car rental at YES Rentals and were transferred by Shuttle to the Airport, then processed quickly through the Customs and Immigration areas and then through bio security all with in 35 minutes. So we had a lengthy wait before the flight commenced boarding at 5.15pm. C Enjoyed a coffee and biscuit.
Our flight was confirmed as on time, but after we were boarded at 5.15pm it appeared that we were ready for departure at 5.40 pm.
The pilot then confirmed we would depart ahead of schedule , just waiting for some final paperwork.
We took off at 5.50pm so well ahead of schedule. There was inclement and rough weather ahead of us.
We enjoyed a flight with a good meal, pleasant flight attendants and everything was very relaxed and on time.
Our last day had been enjoyable visiting Queenstown central and the Sky High precinct, although parking was unbelievably difficult.
We also visited Steamer Wharf , which is a fashionable tourist area. Saw the General Casino area, the world famous Hamburger restaurant.
A surprise is the general comment that overseas visiotors are down worth many cancellations following the lack of snow over the mid-late June and all July.
As a final reflection from the airport we show the snow covered mountains.
