I am writing this update on 3rd September, 2016 and we have now been in our new home for almost 3 months although there remains continuing work to be undertaken on variations outside the "original" contract. The quality and finish are exactly as required by our Architect and all of the planning and preparatory work has been well worthwhile.
We have a lovely contemporary home on one level with all modern conveniences, features and comforts. The size block is substantially smaller and there is no waste space.
The colour scheme chosen by Jeanette and Kirsten, our designer, is also modern and contemporary. Our furniture fits well. We will also obtain advice from an interior decorator.
The continuing works also include the pool tiles, solar pool heating, salt water chlorination as well as cleaning and sealing the sandstone.
The entry water feature is still subject to much discussion, and at a meeting later this week we will finalise our approach and construction can commence. It is very much another key ingredient in setting the ambiance of the property and this entry feature will then transition into the entry hall with the stunning glass beside the front door, which then leads to the glass wall as a feature in the formal dining room and lounge.
Our curtains and blinds are in-place. The problems associated with the hydronic floor heating have now been completely resolved. We will seek professional support and advise re the soft furnishings and use of our art work in several rooms.
We are delighted with the outcome, still much to be done , but we are very settled and contented with a beautiful outcome.
