Jeanette has been quietly planning a family vacation to undertake a Disney Cruise from Port Canaveral on the Disney Dream Cruise ship.
The whole family will make their way independently to Cocoa Beach Florida, which is only 10 minutes away from the Cruise Port . We will all sail together in two cabins on the beautiful Disney Dream for their 4 night Halloween Cruise to the Bahamas.
Following the Cruise we will split up into 2 groups with Peita, Chris, Sebastian and Oliver all staying at Disneyworld Contemporary Resort , whilst Jeanette, Ken and David had booked beautiful accommodation off site at Marriott Grand Vista Golf resort in Central Orlando some 10 minutes from Disney World. Ken and David also played golf at Marriott World, Hawks Landing one of the best courses in the state.
We all enjoyed 2 days at Magic Kingdom and Epcot Centre and the others visited resorts on every day. We concluded our time in Disney with a superb meal at the Disney Contemporary Restaurant on the top floor, with view over the Disney Complex.
Our travels then took us from Disney world to Ormond Beach on the Central Florida coast but it had been extensively damaged by a recent Cyclone and the beaches which we rave about have been decimated.
From here to Hilton Head Island where we all spent time at Bluewater our Spinnaker timeshare resort. Here we had 2 beautiful condominiums, each containing 2 bedrooms. It was designed as a time for recovery following the very busy schedule at Disney and on the Cruise. It is just a superb property.
It was just right, although the weather was a little cooler than we expected. Ken and David played golf at Hilton Head Counrty Club and enjoyed their time.
The whole family then travelled North to Charleston to take in the beauty and food of this southern city. The architecture is stunning and the Carriage ride is a wonderful way to enjoy this beauty. Jeanette David and Ken stayed in two rooms at the beautifully restored Double Tree hotel. We also enjoyed a superb meal in a small restaurant just around the corner from the Hotel.
We all separated in Charleston with Chirs, Peita, Seb and Oliver all flying out to Philadelphia and then to, Washington, New York and finally Chicago before flying to Los Angeles and then to Honolulu, Hawaii.
David went further north to Denver Colorado and Colorado Springs where he enjoyed a wonderful time attending various US sport. But he experienced quite nasty weather, with snow storms and blizzards.
Jeanette and Ken flew to Phoenix and stayed 3 nights at the Arizona Biltmore , a Waldorf Astoria property. Just unbelievably beuatiful in every way. We were able to catch up with good friends Peter and Wendy from Scottsdale and then have lunch the next day with Corey and XXX.
We then drove the 4 plus hours through the desert to Palm Desert where we stayed at Desert Springs Resort another Marriott timeshare property. Just superb in every way.
David joined us 2 days later after a long and difficult drive from Los Angeles with the 2 hour drive taking almost 5 hours.
We had a great time with him. Played golf at 2 courses and also had drinks one evening at the beautiful Desert Willow course. Truly something special.
From here after a most enjoyable 6 days we drove the 4 hours back to Phoenix AZ and flew out of Sky Harbour to Honolulu. We enjoyed the flight, collected our luggage our driver was waiting and we travelled to the Lagoon tower at Hilton Hawaiian Village. We were dropped off at the Grand Waikikian driveway and foyer checked in and went to our Condo.
The others, Chris, Peita Seb and Oliver arrived earlier, left their luggage and went to an American College Football game at Hawaiian Stadium.
They checked in and we were all setlled for the next 8 days in one of our favourite resorts in the world here in Honolulu.
