Norwegian Epic Cruise Barcelona to Barcelona through the Mediterranean Sea 21-28 August 2022.

As commented previously we had unpacked and then walked through this immense ship. We decided to eat in one of the Main Dining rooms , selected Taste Dining room, before taking in the first of the Shows which was a Production Company musical.

Dinner was excellent and we had 3 courses and several enjoyable drinks. We remained surprised that the main thoroughfare was through the large Casino. We had a drink in an English-style pub, toasted one another, and then walked through to dinner at 7.00 pm and we had made a good decision to beat the crowds. There was an exciting buzz about the ship and departure at 6.05 pm brought several parties and celebrations with a variety of Bands playing festive music. Half-price or 241 drinks were a boom to many.

This is our first extensive trip back cruising and you realize how big these Mega ships are. After the lengthy queue at check-in at the Cruise terminal, it has all been remarkably smooth. Many hundreds of people are on the pool deck enjoying the music and the departure.

The schedule represents a port each day, with varying lengths, and then a rolling celebration of music and entertainment each evening.

We have made a number of excursions and dining Reservations as listed below:

  • Tuesday 23rd August 18.30 pm Main Dining Room- Taste - With a 4 Course Special Tasting menu

  • Wednesday 24th August Cagney’s Steakhouse

  • Thursday 25th August Tour of Florence and Pisa - Let’s Take a Selfie

  • Friday 26th August - Highlights of Monaco and Nice

  • Friday 26 August La Cucina Restaurant

  • Saturday 27th August - Le Bistro French Restuarant

These were of interest to us as we know severral ports and will do those ourselves such as :

  • Rome via train from Civitavecchia and then walk or hop on hop BUs

  • Napoli with a transit by train from Central to Pompeii and then train to Sorrento then lunch via the pier and hovercraft back to Napoli

Our Cabin is a Verandah cabin with full Balcony and # 11230. ( About 6 cabings from Central lifts).

It in interesting that all bookings and transactions are made through the NCL app. It works well.

The Show was called Beatlemania revisiting the magic of the 60’s and reliving the Beatle’s meteoric rise from their humble beginning at the Liverpool Cavern Club. The Band is called the Epic Beatles Band and we enjoy a fantastic show. Everyone was up and singing.

After this a visit to Epic DJ and DancerPalooza for the disco, but we has a quick look then decided it was bed time.

Day one had been very enjoyable and most worked well.

Should also comment that Jeanett’s case has a broken whell so will ned to make some running repairs.
