We departed the Double Tree by Hilton -Sirkeci, Istanbul flew to Dubai on Turkish airlines TK758 departing at 21.00pm arriving Dubai at 2.25am (plus 1 day). We decided to book a Hotel room for the 19th-20th August. We needed to book for the additional day (ie day earlier).

We stayed at the Double Treee by Hilton Dubai al Jadaf, reasonably close to the Airport. It was comfortable clean and had a good restaurant. We did do some tourist activities but the purpose was to have a proper rest before our flight departing at 9.00pm and heading to Singapore.

Jeanette was tired , didn’t sleep particularly well and just wants to get home.

The Emirates A380 flight works well, we are comfortable enjoy a meal and sleep well. We are on EK352 departing 10.05am and arriving Singpore at 21.45pm and we are at the Conrad Orchard road , Singapore by 10.45pm. Straight into bed as our body clocks are all over the place and out of whack..

As much as we like singapore we do only a little touriost stull after a superb breakfast. We have late morning and all afternoon , early evening. We are due to be picked up at 5.30pm for the short 20 minute trip to the airport ( in the middle of a thunderstorm) in a torrential downpour.

The weather has been typical Singapore with 34 degrees C and 90%humidity and forecast of thunderstorms later today.

We don’t really unpack much of our gear and the humidity remains high.

We have breakfast after a good nights sleep, then Ken goes out and about. Jeanette determines that she will stay in the Conrad, not go outside into the Humidity. She intends sleeping over the afternoon.

Ken confirms that we will depart the Conrad Hotel at 6.45pm and does book a Blacklane car and driver.

In the afternoon Ken catches the train / underground into the Marina Bay area. He walks for about 2 hours, then has a cold drink. Takes the usual photos but we have been regular visitors to Singapore. He returns at 4.00pm, then showers and we pack. The folloing photos are of our usual activites. Jeanette fels relaxed and is looking forward to getting home to Wheelers Hill tomorrow morning . This has been a wonderful Holiday, although we both feel that we have tried to do too much. There is a need to realise that we cannot do what we used to be capable of. ..
