We started traveling the world about 14 years ago and that interest has only grown as we have experienced wonderful times with many new friends over these years.  Associated with these travels we have developed a significant interest in the Peoples of the world as we experience them through our travel and tourist activities.

Our interest and love of North America is fashioned on the amazing multi cultural framework of the USA, as demonstrated by the cultural, language, food and life-style differences experienced in so many different locations throughout the USA.  We find Canada very similar to Australia in so many ways.  We love the Canadian people.   In many respects they are also similar to New Zealanders, who are friendly and engaging and their islands present stunning geographic characteristics with amazing scenery, unlike almost anything or anywhere else in the world.

We have been fortunate to see quite a lot of Europe and Scandinavia, during our time living in London and through our travels and subsequent visits to Ireland, Scotland, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Norway as well as particular experiences in France, Spain and Germany.

We continue to visit and enjoy Italy and always find our time in Switzerland enjoyable with magnificent scenery.  We regularly, use Italy and the port of Civitavecchia about an hour from Rome as a starting point for cruises.  We love Venice, have visited 5-6 times with its history, wonderful music and the concerts of Vivaldi , the wonderful waterways and it too serves as a starting point for our cruises.   We have enjoyed special experiences at Kempinski "San Clemente Resort and Spa on the island some 20 minutes water taxi ride from St Marks.

We love Ireland and the UK and London , but I must not overlook France and the beauty of Paris, the stunning Provence and Wine areas, the spectacular Spain.   There is so much to see.

One of our favourite cities remains Istanbul as the crossover point between Asia and Europe with a friendly people, wonderful scenery and history and positioned on the Bosphoros.  We love the food and the culture.  We have visited 6-7 times., but are also concerned as to social unrest and violence which has occurred more recently.

We love Asia and the cultural dynamics of the various nationalities.  We have grown to appreciate the burgeoning commercial and financial wealth of China and its rapid urbanisation, the stunning technology and infrastructure being developed.

The friendliness and gentleness of the Japanese and their amazing urbanisaton and the impressive growth of their economy.

Vietnam remains a pleasant surprise, with a friendly, welcoming and caring people.

We have visited and enjoyed Myanmar with its stunning historical framework and wonderful temples and historical sites.

Singapore remains a favourite city, with its wonderful efficient transport, rail and public infrastructure.  Shopping remains an integral part of the Singaporean experience, yet we always enjoy our stopovers and the food of wonderful variety.

Malaysia is another emerging country with wonderful scenery, tremendous city development and again amazing food and cultural opportunities.

Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong are some of our favourite cities, with wonderful scenery, tremendous history and different but impressive infrastructure.

We couldn't leave this brief overview without commenting as to the "amazing" India with its Kaleidoscope of colour, food and culture all wrapped in an amazing diversity of culture and confusion.  A people of unbelievable intensity as to their nation, amazing change and yet bureaucratic shambles, but magical environments from Mumbai to Old and New Delhi, Jaipur, Udipur and then the magic of Kerala with its waterways and agricultural wealth.  Certainly some of the most luxurious 5 and 6 star hotels in the world having stayed at several Oberoi Hotels whilst touring with Tauck.

Jeanette would suggest that our visits to Africa for Safar in Kenya, Tanzania, Zimbabw, Botswana, South Africa are holidays like no other, with amazing safari encompassing all of the big 5 animals so close it is unbeleivable.  We have travelled to Kruger, Massi Mara, The amazing waterfalls and "white thunder" of Victoria Falls.    The animals in their native land are just indescribable.

We have enjoyed visits to South America, both cruising and also via arranged tours.   We found Machu Picchu sensational, thought the falls of Iguassu to be unbeleivable and then enjoyed the Spanish and Dutch influence of the cities.

But all of these amazing experiences have only whetted our appetites for more travel throughout "Our Wonderful World."
