Departure from Oceania Sirena and tour of Hamburg and train to Berlin.

There is always a sense of sadness and expectation as we reach the end of another exciting and enjoyable cruise, especially Oceania, and this is no exception.

We awake and we have berthed at the port in Hamburg and there is a range of activities to get all passengers fed and then off the ship and prepapre fopr the arrival and then cruise commencing this afternoon.

We had secured and put our luggage out last night, keeping only a change of clothes , our pyjamas and toiletries in our hand luggage.

Breakfast is in the Grand dining room and we sit looking out over the rear of the ship and enjoy a hearty breakfast, before making our way to the lounge for our group of Concierge and Penthouse Suite passengers.

We say goodbye to severa lpeople, we are then called to exit the lounge and proceed to disembarkation via the central area. We are through immigration and customs and security inside 20 minutes. All efficient and works well

The next challenge after picking up pur cases is to then find our guide and driver. This proves to be very easy he is waiting with a sing, goes and collects our cases and then leads us to a VW vehicle which s very comfortable. He speaks good english.

We advise that we are in hios hands and he suggests the Old towwn of Hamburg , then to the newer area and finally a stop bedside a river for a coffee and a relaxing 20 minutes before he drops us off at the station with clear instructions as to how to get to our train via the platform and lifts.

We enjoy a great 2 hours seeing a whole range of architecture and buildings. The river and the crossings via bridges are highlights.

This is a wealthy port city, connecting to Central Germany.

We sit and relax over coffee, it has been a successful process and we are excited as to moving on to Berlin.

As a final comment we are delighted with Oceania and this was another sensational 15 days.
