Singapore Marina Bay Light Show - 27th January 2024 8.00pm
After a lovely day with James and Rachael , Ken decided that he would catch the train from Raffles City downtown Baytown to watch the celebrated Light Show which occurs on the Water directly in front of the main entrance to the Marina Bay Shoppes.
He arrived at 7.20 pm and had 40 minutes to wait, but he felt it better to be their and seated, albeit on the wooden forecourt prior to the majority of the crowd arriving in the last 20 minutes.\, before the performance commences exactly at 8.00pm.
It is a perfect evening with a slight cool wind coming off the sea, very little humidity and we have had no rainfall for these past 2 days despite this being in the Monsoon Season, with rainfall and thunderstorms expected almost daily.
The show lasts approximately 15 minutes and is a glittering disparate of Laser beams, floating smoke clouds and a Caliedoscope of imagery and music and lights.
We have viewed it on several occasions, but you always see something different . There was an audience of several thousand people and most arrived within the last 20 minutes prior to the show. There was a significant crowd who were still shopping and dining in the Shoppes precinct after the last several nights of concerts from Coldplay with people coming from a variety of South East Asian nations including Indonesia and Malaysia.
We have enjoyed two near perfect days here in Singapore and surprisingly during the wet monsoon season the weather has been very good with a cooling breeze, temperatures in low 30’s and no rainfall.
As the sun passed with a lovely sunset, the night arrives with buildings lit up and it approaches 8.00pm. The show commences automatically and there is broad beat of music. The light show includes a variety of laser lighting swirling coloured plumes of water and waves of water all dancing to the beat of the music.
