Flight from Hanoi to Siem Reap, Cambodia and Accommodation at Sofitel Siem Reap Resort.
We enjoyed another excellent flight with Vietnam Airlines from Hanoi to Siem Reap and it was very wet when after arrivals there was a strong electrical storm with heavy rainfall and much electrical and thunder activity.
Little did we know that this was the last day of operations at this airport as there was an official opening and use of a new larger international airport from tomorrow morning.
We were greeted enthusiastically and transferred to the Sofitel Siem Reap Hotel and Resort. Just a beautiful resort and hotel and we have a very comfortable suite for the 3 days here. There is a welcome dinner and it is served and enjoyed with a couple of red wines.
We are welcomed to the sofitel by an enjoyable dance presentation.
After a most enjoyable dinner where we all raved as to the resort and accommodation we are treated to a wonderful dance presentation.
This was undertaken by a dance group and musicians.
This has been a terrific night. After the meal and the wonderful dancers, everyone turns in with a sense of excitement and hoping for a wonderful day in terms of weather and activity at Angkor Wat Temples tomorrow. Forecast is good so we remain excited and optimistic.
