23rd November 2016 Golf at Desert Willows and Dinner at Shogan- Superb

We again woke early to another superb day, with clear blue skies, no breeze and temperatures which will rise later to 77F degrees.

Following breakfast dropped in to the Supermarket, then walk s around this beautiful resort.  Ken is playing golf at Desert Willows next door at 11.20am and picks up good rental clubs from here at Embarc.

Jeanette drops Ken off at the bag drop at 9.45am , then she goes shopping as well as other bits and pieces.

Ken hits  range balls then is called via the small remote to go to the starters box and present the location receipt. He is playing with a couple and one other good player off 8.

The course is wonderful, picturesque and a good test. It is a championship course, with wid slope variations and testing greens with multiple levels.  We play well, with Ken shooting a 92 for 70 net, given his 18 handicap is 22 here.  One of the players shoots 78 off the stick for a net 70.

Just a wonderful experience, enjoyed by all.  The highlight was on the 9th green, where Ken in front of he luncheon set sitting on the balcony enjoying brunch, sank a 25?foot putt, but Ross as mentioned above then promptly sank a swinger Ng 65 foot putt and people on the balcony then cheered and clapped. It was an exception afternoon.

Followingbthevround we retired to the balcony where we enjoyed drinks. Hope you enjoy the photos.

We had arranged to meet Lani and Jm for dinner at the highly regarded Japanese restaurant named Shogun, here in Palm Desert.  We had a 10 minute drive to this stunning restaurant, right next to Manhattan Steak House.

The meal was cooked by a Japanese chef in front of you on a hot plate. It was a delicious meal, with a select range of choices of appetisers, soup and fried rice before our entire/ main was cooked perfectly then played right in front of us.

A very special night.

Lani and Jim dropped us off and we are sharing thanks giving lunch with them tomorrow. The experience here at the golf and dining at Shogun, reflects a truly memorable day.
