29th March 2019. Ferry from Helsinki to Tallin, Estonia and return for final Dinner
/Another very eary start with wake up call at 5.30am, then departure for Star Ferry at 6.00am
Tjese are large ferries carrying 2,000 plus people, 2 decks of cars and one deck of lorries and trucks.
Inger shepherded us on board and we had a breakfast buffet in the Delight Buffet. Good breakfast and enjoyable food and company. Smooth trip and we quite enjoyed the whole ferry experience.
Upon arrival in Tallin, Estonia we were met by local guide Eric, who then took us on a 3 hour tour of the major sites ncluding Upper and Lower Old Town. We started at the famed Estonian Singing venue where Independence was claimed and is celebrated every 2 years.
We then drove back to the Port area and a toilet break, before visiting the Old Town, being dropped off and walking from Upper Old Town , visiting several churches and palaces before we ventured down to the lower old town.
We were guided through several lanes, passed by merchants homes, many shops and restaurants, then eventually came to the city square.
Following a historical lecture we all went our own ways, enjoyed lunch then agreed to meet underneath the clicks at the old Town Hall.
Inger returned we then traveled to the Ferry terminal for return to Helsinki.
On the ferry we sat in a bar area listening to a group playing music and singing.
On return to Helsinki, we caught our bus back to the main boulevard,
We dined at a beautiful Restaurant named Kavelli, where we enjoyed a superb meal.
Always sad to say farewell to the group and our guide.
Just a wonderful way to end our magical small group tour.
