17th October,2016 - Vancouver BC - Wintery and Wet

We had enjoyed our trip flying from San Francisco to Vancouver on Air Canada, despite the lengthy delay due to a severe storm in the San Francisco Bay Area, which we subsequently found caused havoc up and down the west coast.

The flight arrived and the rain had stopped, but we were in for a shock because our limo driver didn't arrive and Ken's case had another wheel missing , broken off. So we travelled in a taxi with an Indian gentleman from Vancouver Airport into The Sheraton Wall centre where Embarc Resort is located n 29th and 30th floorwith superb views across the city.

Subsequently, we began to unpack and found Jeanette's case had been left out in the rain and the contents were quite damp, so we then had he clothes draped everywhere to dry and will send one jacket out for dry cleaning, because it has a water mark stain.

The local IGA market is the supermarket close by, so we shopped and also purchased food for dinner.

We were in bed by 10.30pm and slept really well not waking until 7.30am only to find Vancouver shrouded in very low cloud and heavy rainfall, with a forecast of improving weather with rain diminishing to showers this afternoon.

Our friends, Linda and Alec are arriving this evening and staying with his son and we will spend the full day together tomorrow, hopefully with better weather.

Following lunch of soup and panini Ken is walking down to Canada Place , taking photos whilst Jeanette is staying inside.

So whilst this has been a wet start to our stay in this beautiful city, we do have a luxurious "home " to make the best of it all.
