8th-10th August 2018 Beautiful Queensland Currumbin Bird Sanctuary, Pacific Fair Shopping Centre and relaxing on the beach.

After our wonderful day with Ray and Phylis Knight, we decided to have a relaxing day starting with a walk along the Boardwalk to Kirra beach, then coffee and caramel slice at Coolangatta Surf Club.

On the way back to the Beachcomber resort we stopped for some groceries.

Lunch was salad rolls and fruit and cold drinks.

Following lunch we read and relaxed before driving to Currumbin Sanctuary for the afternoon feeding of the Lorikeets, beautiful birds and there were many birds around. We had a great time, with Jeanette feeding and having birds all over her.

So a great afternoon was had by all and we drove back around the coast road to Coolangatta .

Then enjoyed a drink with cheese and biscuits before dinner.

We woke to a perfect morning on Friday morning with Ken scheduled to play golf at Royal Pines Golf Course At Royal Pines RACV resort..

Mid morning we went to Tweed Shopping Centre, where Ken had minor repairs to his glasses.

Golf at Royal Pines was enjoyable and Ken played well, with 19 points for the green front name. Weather was perfect, Course was near perfect with firm true greens, superb fairways. Course was busy, pace slow but got through in pretty good time.

Friday evening we again enjoyed a meal at the resort before attending a production show at Twin Towns Club, where the Robertson brothers staged a most enjoyable show.. The auditorium had 1200 people in attendance, but the show was delayed.

The delay occurred because of the impact of the severe storms in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney with many flights delayed from and to those cities. Melbourne experienced snow on the. Dandenong Ranges and heavy rainfall and winds of 80-100 km per hour winds.

The Robertson’s were due to fly out from Sydney to the Gold Coast At 8.00am but experienced several delays and in the end arrived on the Gold Coast At 7.15pm without clothes and all of the bands musical instruments and equipment..

The show finally commenced at 8.30pm, and we were entertained for almost 3 hours with their Everly group review. Really good and the audience sang along and enjoyed greatly enjoyed it.

We arrived back at the Beachcomber Resort at 11.50pm, after a great night’s entertainment.

We awoke on Saturday to a significant change in the weather. Still warm , but the weather in the South of the country has impacted via strong cold winds of 50-70 km per hour. No rain, but needed a sweater or jumper out walking and too windy to be on the beach and trees close to the beaches have been damaged and branches stripped.

Jeanette and Ken went shopping at Pacific Fair Shopping Centre and Jeanette purchased several items of clothing. Ken visited Telstra.

We travelled back from Pacific Fair along the beaches with many little white cap waves, strong cold gusty winds.

Following lunch, we watched AFL football, Ken walked around to Rainbow Bay and Point Danger.
