Golf at Coolangatta and Viva Italia concert at The Twin Towns Services Club .
There is always much to do as well as walk along the beautiful beaches and play golf, eat out and then attend several concerts at the large Theatre at Twin town Services club.
We walk daily along the beach and forecourt to Rainbow Bay or back along the boardwalk to Kirra Surf Beach. The scenery is spectacular with surfboard riders always looking for waves as well as many seniors walking and relaxing like ourselves. A new addition has been the growth and now preponderance of electric bicycles along the walking and riding paths. It is no surprise that these are being ridden by people of all ages.
Ken has also played golf on Monday and Wednesday at Coolangatta Tweed Golf and Bowls club. They have 2 full championship courses and they are each in superb condition.
On Thursday Ken has booked RACV Course at Royal Pines for 18 holes with 2 others. That is also a beautiful championship course.
We have eaten out on two occasions at the Coolangatta Surf Life Saving club and the meals are of good quality and size.
Our mornings often involve having morning coffee at the same venue after a walk.
An evening at AFL Carrara a watching AFL - Gold Coast “Suns” and Hawthorn “Hawks”
Last Saturday evening Ken travelled the 35 minutes to Carrara to watch the AFL match between the Gold Coast suns and the Hawthorn Hawks. The suns were much too good. He parked in the blue Cark (cost $25) which seems over the top and all parking was sold out. He left the game vat 10 minute mark of the final quarter with the Suns some 6 goals in front and dominating and was home by 10.30pm here at Coolangatta.
Paul Tabone , Viva Italia Concert - singing Pavarotti- quite sensational
We also attended a Concert performance with viva Italia at the Twin Towns club with the tenor vocal lead being Paul Tabone a globally successful Australian Italian singer who specialises in singing the classical works made famous by Pavarotti and that genre.
He had an outstanding pianist accompany him and introduced a young girl Rachel from Harvey Bay who is just starting out and has a good career ahead of her. The concert was for 90 minutes and involved a variety of songs and operetta and he has a beautiful voice. He has sung around the world including in Italy at the Verona Arena world famous for the 3 tenors presentations. He has sung with them individually.
We returned following the concert and some shopping at Woolworths for launch, then rested before having an afternoon walk.
Jeanette cooked pasta for dinner and we can safely say it was just a special day with the Concert being the highlight.
