Day 15 - Cruising the North Sea and Travel to Amsterdam.

Serina departed Edinburgh at 10.00 pm after 2 nights and almost 2 days in Edinburgh and in witnessing history following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 11.

We enjoyed dinner and listened to the Sail away and had again taken in the the process and planning with the resultant pageantry of the Procession and the casket lying in State at St Giles Cathedral. The crowds were simply amazing with the repect and quietness. Massive security, but from our observation there was nothing of any moment and the people and the police were of good spirits.

We woke after an excellent evening’s sleep to a crisp but clear day. We then undertook several activities, including some washing, and some games and Ken finished reading book 7, We are also looking forward to visiting Amsterdam tomorrow as part of the rescheduled and restructured itinerary after changes caused by the impact of the War in Ukraine and the cancellation of visits to Russian ports.

This is another relaxing day. Ken reads most of the morning, whilst Jeanette catches up on emails and Facebook.

We enjoy lunch with guests in the beautiful Main Dining room and unusually enjoy a glass of French white wine.

There is a fil mon in the theatre this afternoon.

Jeanette is now fully recovered from her Sinusitis but decided to sleep. Ken walks around the deck.

We have dinner in the Streak and Italian restaurant this evening. We were observing that this has been an excellent cruise even with the modified itinerary, all have worked well, the ship is superb, the people are good company.

Tomorrow we look forward to a visit to Flanders Fileds after we have visited Amsterdam

These have been an interesting period visiting several islands and now we return to mainstream European cities over the next several days.

We thoroughly enjoy the sea day, appreciate our ship’s crew and thier looking after us
